XO Trumpet

While in Japan on a recent trip, I had tried out a few trumpets in a few music stores while there, one was a Yamaha Xeno, the other was a XO model RV-GBS. I was quite impressed with this trumpet and decided once I returned home, I would try to find this trumpet.

Now that I have returned from my holidays, I have spent much time but can't find this trumpet available anywhere in North America. My question being, is this trumpet available in North America, or more specifically, Canada?

There have been posts in other trumpet forums to the point that some of the fancier (XO?) models are ONLY retailed in Japan. You may have found one of them.

XO and Xeno

Which model Xeno did you play in Japan? How did it compare to the XO model?

The model of XO trumpet I played was the XO-RV-GB which is a laquer clear coated Gold Brass bell trumpet. The Zeno was the YTR-8335RGS. I liked the Zeno, it was much better that the current trumpet I am playing now, a Jupiter Tribune JTR-1200

The XO was that much better from my Jupiter to the Xeno, the XO seemed to be easier to blow into, had a softer smooth tone and a wider range with ease. I was amazed!

Rayburn's carries the XO line, according to a thread over on TH. They seem to have a few admirers.

Sorry, I am new to this game, (this forum) I am from Canada and am unfamiliar with Rayburn's. Do they have a website?

Rob, if that horn is available at Rayburns and you are seriously interested in it I think you'd be well advised to contact St. John's Music. They are Jupiter/Yamaha dealers for Canada. Long & McQuade are also a chain store but they'll bring in about anything you want... as long as you're willing to order it. Still it wouldn't hurt to "touch base" with them as well.

Most Jupiter dealers in the USA do NOT carry the XO. I don't know about Canada. It's worth a try to ask, but I suspect the answer you'll receive is, "Huh?"
