Your Valentine's Tune

Happy Valentine's Day, fellow Vulgani!

What piece, written for trumpet, would you think the most appropriate to play for your Valentine?

(My choice is "I'll Love my Love" from Holst's 2nd Suite. A mess of memories and a good tune.)

Fight the Good Fight.

On My Own (from Les Miserables)

Just about any piece for solo trumpet.

Ever get the feeling that I'm currently a cynical singleton?

Any of Art Farmer’s slow ballads would be fine.

Re: Your Valentine's Tune

I played My funny Valentine on Sunday for my wife (who was at the gig) and scored major brownie points!

With all the boxes arriving recently I need them!

TMike,
There is other instruments in the world like the cornet or the flugelhorn...or in extreme case you can get something like a cornetto for a change My funny Valentine is a good one. Can My favourite things be considered as a Valentine's tune? I thought that it may be nice to add the Coltrane video link on http://www.dailymotion.com/visited/s...vourite-things

Re: Your Valentine's Tune

With apologies to Rogers & Hart...

I would never tell my wife that her "Looks are laughable, unphotographable" and tell her her "figure is less than Greek" and "her mouth is a little weak"

Doesn't sound like a good way to a great relationship to me.

Re: Your Valentine's Tune

"yet you're my favorite work of art"

Nobody's perfect... the meaning of this lyric is much more deep than a literal translation.

plus it's a heck of a melody.

Wait till the new cd, you'll see hahahah!

Best,

T
