Zeus trumpets

Has anyone here ever played one? Any criticisms? The only things I've heard about them were good things, and I'm considering buying one, but I'm a little skeptical about them not being a major company.

Go HERE and search for that brand. Then, just let sleeping dogs lie. [/url]

Do a search. It won't be pretty

I had a Zeus Guarnerius (ZTR900 S) a few years ago.

It was a Strad copy made by Kanstul and played like a very good Bach Stradivarius 37. I was mostly satisfied with it (I paid $975).

After I completed my first Forza trumpet I sold the Zeus for $800.

Since the same horn, ZTR 900S, now costs $1800 I would not consider buying one, I'd go straight to Kanstul if I wanted a Strad copy.

B & S also make a horn that's pretty darn close to the ML180-37.

For $1800, you can go straight to a Strad.

True enough.

Of course, there are many new horn designs and hundreds of used ones that can be had for $1800 or less that will outperform a new Strad, IMO.

Agreed.

And the ZTR 900 isn't really a copy of a new Strad. It's modeled after Alex's old Mt. Vernon, which would be much more expensive if you wanted one.

PhatmonB6 will become famous soon enough
I had the Olympus in raw brass and it is a sweet axe. I traded it in for a Phaeton and it was even sweeter yet...then I traded that in for a bach strad 37...whic I am very very happy with. Getting back to the Zues, I find it to be a very nice horn for all types of playing....to each his own though always remember that.....if it sounds good to you then it will sound good to your listeners...

Sure, but you can't convince some people of that.
