American In Paris, Felt Crown? Manny Could I rack your brains/experience and ask what you'd say works best for this solo? I tried an old scout Berret, was a bit quiet, I was thinking a duster, or even a plunger with some felt inside it, from the Jo Ral cup mute. Thanks in advance, Jon

Re: American In Paris, Felt Crown? Actually, the last time I played it I used a baseball cap that belonged to one of our stage hands! I've used just about everything. I've decided the bags aren't the way to go. A felt hat or cap covering the bell is the sound I like best. ML

Re: American In Paris, Felt Crown? Manny Thanks for the reply, thats interesting, I ended up using somthing similar, a plunger stuffed with the felt that comes in a jo ral cup mute, felt quite good, helped with the sleezy effect. I found the same thing with the bags, sound felt too dead. (plus the whisky is expensive, can't believe the scots would pay that much lol)
