| Re: Another Vizzutti Carnival Clip As they say in the South....Dayummmmm...... That's Alan Vizutti for you- he makes it look like a walk in the park. Which, for him, it is. And if you follow up you can see -all too briefly- clips of Bohm conducting Don Juan, and Bernstein conducting Bruckner 9th. You can spend a long time following threads in there. |

Great for us in any case! I know that it isn't the horn, but an instrument like that may have made Mr. Arban a believer in TRUMPETS! |

![]() | Re: Another Vizzutti Carnival Clip Yamaha released a new video podcast on iTunes with Vizzuti. It's a mix between video and a audio interview. The video is from his "Step to excellence" tape from 1986 with "Carnival of Venice" on it. I can recommend to download it, great playing by Vizzutti! |

![]() | Re: Another Vizzutti Carnival Clip I bought Alan's "Steps to Excellence" a few years ago. It cost me $75.00 for the VHS tape. If it comes out on CD I would pick it up, again. Maybe Yamaha will update it? Last edited by stchasking : 01-11-2007 at 12:30 AM. Reason: vhs |

| Re: Another Vizzutti Carnival Clip This guy is friggin' amazing....! What really got me was the playing while rotating the Trumpet clockwise on his embouchre and not missing a beat. I tried that last night for fun while practicing; not good! |

| Re: Another Vizzutti Carnival Clip It works better if your receiver is placed too far back and the shank of the mouthpiece hits the leadpipe. The mouthpiece spins pretty easy then, you don't even have to move it on your face :) |

My first trumpet, a Getzen, had the problem you describe. The mouth piece would wiggle in the receiver because the mouth piece was a few .001's of an inch too long. It was a little uncomfortable. Since then I check mouth piece fit when playing new horns. I think I will work on the "ball bearing supported rotatable mouth piece receiver" patent starting next week. It will make asymetric mouthpieces easier to fit. | |
