  | articulation dilemma What do you do when you get a slur+portato lines? Articulate (probably with mellow, daa-like articulation) or not? Waiting for your comments! Nick

| Some composers/editors use the slurs to show phrasing, especially the contemporary German publishers, so the dilemma remains – if not slurred, then with “daah” as you suggested, or slurred with more weight on the individual tones. Ask what your section leader / concertmaster / conductor wants and play it that way (even if they are wrong).
