DubbaCTrumpetMSU has a spectacular aura about
Arutunian PDF

Well, I have a quick request for someone who has a few minutes to spare...could someone PDF me a copy of the trumpet part to the Arutunian Concerto?

Re: Arutunian PDF

I have a pdf of the Arutunian. Although it contains no articulations or precise tempo markings at all and is not "official." However, I can say with 95% certainty that all the notes and rests are correct.

hup_d_dup will become famous soon enough
Re: Arutunian PDF

As this piece was written in 1950, it is undoubtedly not in the public domain and should not be distributed by unauthorized pdf.

You can buy a legal copy here: Trumpet Concerto - Sheet Music Plus. It's only $16.50.

Re: Arutunian PDF

For the record, it's for educational purposes, and printing an unperformable copy is legal under those circumstances...such as only the trumpet part. But, I digress...I'm sure I'm not the first person here to ask for a PDF of a trumpet part. :) As it is, thanks, TrumpetNick.

Re: Arutunian PDF

Doesn't your trumpet teacher have a copy you can look at? I'd also be surprised if you school's music library didn't have one there as well.
Best of success!

Re: Arutunian PDF

America is a funny country. Copyright infringement can get you in big trouble but educators have Carte Blanche?

I know that it is common practice to copy stuff, especially in schools. I was not aware that that was legal.

The Arutjunian is not in the public domain - yet.

As far as copying goes, I am convinced that the common practice in schools of just copying materials - even for classes has reinforced the younger generations lack of respect for them. CDs, games, MP3, homework, videos, all of it is spread around like there is no moral issue here.

In Germany it is not legal ANYWHERE without written permission from the publisher. I am sure that America has a similar ruling - only with WRITTEN permission.

And Australia is very similar - we may take copies for home practice only, as long as an original has been purchased. We may NOT perform a piece of music without the original being on the music stand - this is why publishers often use a little red quaver (or a red stamp for approved copies) to indicate originality. Be careful.
