| Arutunian recording What are some of your favorite recordings of the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto? I've started to (sort of) work this piece up, lol, and I'm unfortunatly lacking a recording. So who do you guys (and gals) recommend? |

| Re: Arutunian recording Try to find a recording with Timofei Dokshizer playing. He is the authority on that piece. Quote:

| I've got one at home that Bibi Black recorded. Don't know the title or record company, 'cuz I'm at work, but you could probably find it on Amazon. It's a great recording and she plays fantastic. Marty |

| [quote="orchtrpt"]I might stay away from the Bibi stuff but she is HOT. I used to have a poster of her. where did she go I wonder? Okay, I've just gone back and re-listened to this tonight. The title of the cd is"Soviet Trumpet Concertos". It's on the Chandos label and was recorded with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. My question is why would you stay away from the Bibi stuff? Is it her interpretation, tone quality, technical skill or lack there of? What's your beef? If I could play as well as her I'd be very pleased. Now I'll admit that I haven't heard the Dokshizer recording that was mentioned. Bibi's may very well pale in comparison, but please be a little more specific in your criticism. You are absolutely correct in your evaluation of her looks. If I knew where she went (is she missing ?) I might be tempted to keep it a secret. Marty |
