Audition Process

Hi, all! I found this at MyAuditions. (Some of you have no doubt seen it there, too). It's a very informative article accompanied by a video interview with the personnel manager of the NSO explaining each step of the audition process, along with their principal horn and former floutist. For those of us either entering the audition loop for the first time, thinking about a career in performing or just interested in how things work in other orchestras, it is a great article.

Enjoy! Those of you already in the business, if you could share your insights or experiences at each of the stages (ie what you did to move on, maybe or maybe what factors you feel caused you to not move on to the next round, how things differed at your current orchestra, etc) it may even give us further insight.

diz-Wow. The Yeo essay is great! The other one for some reason is filtered here at school so I won't get to check it until this evening. Thanks!
