| Forte User | Bartok Concerto For Orchestra Final Hi Manny, I intend to go to some orchestral auditions in western Europe as I am not really satisified by the Orchestra I am working with... So I need to review some orchestral excerpts taht has always been difficult to me. One of them is Bartok Concerto for Orchestra, especially the final. The problem is the get all the notes without getting some harmonics instead. To get better I started to play the trumpet solo everytime 1 octave lower and play it in all keys up to the top. Seems it gets better. I have a problem with the Ravel Piano Concerto in G the but there problem seems to be rather tonguing as the gddd eddd thing is OK but egdg edgd is not very secure. Any Suggestion? What do you think of my way to work the solo of the Bartok Concerto?

![]() | Re: Bartok Concerto For Orchestra Final I like your approach, Nick, of using the different keys. Maybe a D trumpet would work best or even an Eb? Then many repetitions would be the next step. For the Ravel nothing is a substitute for many repetitions. Try to keep your head still, though. ML |
