Great site !

Since orchestral playing is my first love, Mr. A is one of my all-time favorite influences. The years he played with the Cleveland Symphony are some of the finest orchestral recordings around. While I was in Belgium (for the past three years) I was fortunate enough to play one of Mr. A's old C trumpets. What I wouldn't do to own that one, but the new owner will not part with it. LOL. I don't blame him.

What kind of horn was it, a mt vernon? His recordings with Cleveland have some real fire in them!

Yes Jason, it is a Mt Vernon

and the owner says it is 50 years old. He has had it all "gussied up" and it plays like a dream. I just liked the idea of playing a horn that Mr. A played. *sigh*
