| Capriccio italien New conductor announced this to the audience last night in a surprise move as I thought we had no more concerts till June due to a commitment to work with a choir. It appears he seems happy to let the brass section loose on these sort of very exposed parts. Its going to be fun anyway. I have never done this one other than in Denis Wright's brass band transcription. |

| Re: Capriccio italien I enjoy this piece a lot. That one tricky fingering trumpet solo was nicely honored as the basis of one of the etudes in the Vassily Brandt book. I think it is something like the 7th etude in the book. To me, that's a pretty good tribute to a single lick from our trumpet literature. |

| Piano User | Re: Capriccio italien Iplayed this one with the Brooklyn Heights orchestra, a very good community group, and covered the First trumpet part. I had the pleasure of hearing Lane Anderson playing the tricky Cornet part in his typical lyrical and warm style. |
