Robert and the rest of the committee should be congratulated on running a really first-rate audition. Very professional and fair all the way around. I couldn't focus last week, didn't advance, and wasn't surprised in the least. There's always next time, right?

Yes, I agree. Robert, the committe and the staff that were there to assist were absolutely top notch. The facilities are beautiful as is the city of Charlotte. I didn't advance either, due to focus because I was too worried about trying to play with a respiratory infection that I came down with on Thursday night. Oh well, that is how things go. There are always more auditions to prepare and, hopefully, be healthy for.

I was there as well, and it was my first orchestral audition I had taken. I figured since I live here, and Mike Miller was my teacher, there was no better first audition for me to take. I was very happy to see how easy everything was, and no I have a great idea in my head as to how these things work! Congrats to Mr. Steelman, and thanks to everyone else! Julian Kaplan

I was there last night, playing downtown Charlotte...had to stop in the back of the hall to get parking stamped... I saw a few folks there.. heard one person auditioning.. (know "I" got some strange looks...hahaha... I am known as a commercial player in town....hahaha.. (what the heck is "he" doing here! hhahaha... think they would have liked me to play something from a Broadway show?? hahaha).. Anyway...I digress... the point is..I was there a little after 7pm. I saw on that other thread Alex posted that someone was claiming a victor around that time. Auditions were still going on...so.. Haven't heard a peep yet.

Since no one's signed a contract yet, I'll wait to confirm/deny any word on who won. I will say that news sure travels fast! Anyway, thanks to everyone who auditioned. We were really happy to have such a good turnout, and such a strong field of players to listen to. If anyone has any complaints about their experience, please feel free to PM me, and I will forward the concerns on to our personnel manager. Thanks again, Bob PS - TG, I wish you could have made it. Your kind words brought a tear to my eye...
