![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Trumpet Herald had a similar Post 4 years ago. ******************************* pitchlevel Veteran Member ..........However, the Columbia Orchestra which appeared on Bruno Walter's stereo recordings from 1957 onward was something different and very special................. The result was a new Columbia Symphony Orchestra, chosen specifically by and for Walter. This group was an ensemble of 50 to 70 members, assembled from the best freelance musicians on the West Coast, ............ so if it was from 1958, it would be the west coast group. i wonder if columbia records has the personnel rosters from those sessions? could it be the famous studio guys? uan rasey? jimmy stamp? who was in the LA PHIl back then? *************************************** Mzony Heavyweight Member Hi, Bob Divall was the principal player on MOST all of those recordings. I will ask the appropiate people about who THAT particular performer would have been...If I have the recording with me (I might), I will listen to it...I think I can pick DiVall's playing out. ************************************* Maybe this will help.
