Dudamel -- Mahler 3

YouTube - Mahler 3rd - Finale - Dudamel

Gustavo Dudamel's name has come up a number of times in this forum, mostly in relation to the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra. Here's him doing the end of Mahler 3. James Levine, he is not, but this guy is a star. Some darn good trumpet playing too. That chorale is H-A-R-D, especially after the preceding 70 or so minutes.

To clarify, the Levine comment was in reference to the fact that Dudamel is incredibly animated at the podium. Levine just sits there. To be fair, he believes most of the conductors work is done during the rehearsals, so he tries to stay out of the way during the show. He explains as much here:
