Employment rules in German orchestras (European in general) versus in American orches

Hi everyone,
what I am hoping to get with this one is first hand info (preferably by those employed by professional orchestras) about the rules for firing musicians in European State funded orchestras versus their counterparts, privately funded American orchestras.

I am a member of a state funded Brazilian orchestra which is going through a regime change and as a member of the orchestras comitte I want to be prepared to defend the musicians against any possible injustice by the rulers.

Some of my questions:

What are the grounds for dismissal after you have been granted tenure?

How does the process work?

Is there a compulsory retirement age?

Any thing else you think might be important will be truly appreciatted.

Many thanks.
