| Funny Mahler 1 story Right now the orchestra I play with is in the middle of a conductor search, so the audience has questionnaires to fill out about the conductor. Apparently, a few audience members felt the need to comment on the trumpet section as well. Today we received this e-mail from the executive director: Quote:

![]() | Re: Funny Mahler 1 story Matt- Is this a professional orchestra? Even if it's not, you should try to be on time. That's no way to make an impression on visiting guest conductors. -Jimi |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Funny Mahler 1 story Hey, if you ask questions, you need to be able to accept the answers. If the arrival of the trumpets was perceived to be "late", the presentation was not "professional" enough. Maybe they need to not casually sneak into position, but obviously MARCH into place. Take the criticism as a challenge. Work out a believable solution. Playing and Presentation needs to be ON PURPOSE. Make it fun, but serious. Should never happen again! |
