| I hate to ask, but since there seems to be a direct connect here to Mr. Cassone...some people have wondering if the video was produced using true "live-on-video" takes, or as an after the fact lip-sync job. I think this question is prompted by the fact Mr. Cassone seems to toss the Brandenburg off as effortlessly as whistling a tune. If this is "as it happens", he certainly is one incredibly efficient virtuoso! |

| I would also like to know! Mr. Cassone makes it look so easy! I have seldom been so impressed, and not just with Cassone, but the whole group and the energy and musicality they brought to the piece. Does he really play it that easily? Even if he doesn't, even if he's sweating like most of us, a fantastic musical experience! |

Not to diminish this brilliant performance in any way but there are many others in Europe that can toss off the Brandenburg, as well as the other clarino literature, on the nat without tremendous effort. It's now well established in the Euro trumpet culture (indeed the piccolo trumpet, my old baby, is rarely played in performances of Baroque music anymore). Fun, isn't it? Best, EC |

| These Brandenburg movies are clearly from real -- and well-produced -- video takes. I have had the privilege of seeing and hearing Mr. Cassone live and up close, on both natural and modern trumpet -- he is indeed a remarkable trumpeter and musician! Check out the violin playing in some of the other Brandenbugs on the RTSI site -- some of the more florid passages, even with the best synchronization technology could offer, would be nearly impossible to reproduce in a dubbing session. Enjoy all six! -Tom |

| Pianissimo User | So.....remove all four valves on my pic, take the silver plate off, and tie a tassel on what's left. Brilliant! Now , I too can play the Brandenburg just as well! Hehe! I was fortunate to study Baroque trumpet for 3 years in college. I have great admiration for those that can play it at this level. Eklund and Steele-Perkins come to mind. Too bad I can't use a Baroque trumpet to play all my bugle calls! How fun that could be! |

| What an incredible performance. The sound of the baroque trumpet just goes right where it is supposed to with the period instruments, where a modern piccolo may have sounded like a bull in a china shop. Also I love how the whole orchestra stands up and plays together. Some of it may look silly to our eyes, but way the group physically reacts to each other is amazing. And you can hear it, with energy just pouring out of every orifice of the ensemble. What a great player, what a great recording! Just, wow, wow, wow. |
