| Mezzo Forte User | Help me pick a solo Im still trying to decide what solo to pick for this semester and NTC. Last year i did tomasi. Clodfelter (my teacher) mentioned the davies, but its not really one of my favorites... same with jolivet. I was thinking the bohme 1st mvt. I want somting that i enjoy, shows off my strong points, and is flashy enough to make finals at ntc. any ideas? |

| Forte User | JC- Without being able to hear you, we can't guess your strong points. I would guess by the fact that you did Tomasi that multiple tonguining is good, and you have a good sense of French contest pieces. Ever play the Honneger Intrada? A whole section devoted to triple-tonguing; begins rather low on the horn (it's for C trumpet) it explores the range of the instrument rather quickly. One of my favorites from that tradition. Lots of hemiola. |
