| Help Needed Please! To receive an honors grade in my symphonic band class I must perform some music to a group of judges (teachers) and if they hear that I play well enough I get an H. However, I have no idea what music I should play. Here are the guide lines: - You must perform 3 contrasting pieces - The composers of the 3 pieces should be somewhat famous (not obscure people) and should be from contrasting time periods -At least on the pieces should have contrasting movements (like the solos in the Arbans book) -Each piece should be around 2 minutes long, maybe one that is a little longer -Their is no accompaniment, just me. I am not 100 % sure how this will work with having rests (I think you skip them...) <-- I'll find out and update I am a sophomore in high school and (I don't want to brag but...) I have pretty good skills. Thank You very much Last edited by Blazing Asian : 10-21-2007 at 08:56 AM. |

Plan B Purcell: Trumpet Voluntary or Trumpet Tune 2nd Movement Hummel Vizzutti Cascades This is all playable stuff where you need decent technique, but can show musicianship as well! |

![]() | Re: Help Needed Please! For something baroque, look for anything edited by Bernard Fitzgerald. I too like the Haydn II as a slow piece from the classical period, and Goedicke's Concert Etude is a nice, fast "show-off" tune from the 20th century. |
