How to pronounce "Te Deum"

I love Mark-Antoine Charpentier's prelude from "Te Deum" but have no idea how to pronounce it. For that matter can anyone tell me how to pronounce Charpentier?

Thanks for your help,

Kevin

Either Tay Day-um or Tay Dee-um would be correct.

Charpentier - Shar-pen-teay

bandman will become famous soon enough
Because the E in latin is sounded as an A I would go with Tay Day-um

Charpentier = Shar pen tee a

That's a common name in this part of the country!

If you are talking to the organist - The Tedious Prelude normally makes sure you are both talking about the same piece

trumpetmike - pronounced pink haired freak

When I got to my brand new band room in 1984 there was a sign on the door put there by the school board -- Banned Room.

The sad thing was that it was not put there as a joke The person who made the little signs for the different parts of the school actually thought that was how it was spelled!

Hey Bandman

That is a horrible commentary on the education system down there. I wouldn't advertise it so loudly.
