Joshua Whitehouse

Hey all,

Maybe I'm a little late to the party, but I was writing some program notes on some cornet solos that a friend of mine is recording and happened on a CD by Joshua Whitehouse. You can check it out here:

Amazon.com: Cornet Fantasie: Music: Guillaume Balay,Wassily Brandt,George Enescu,Philippe Gaubert,Thorvald Hansen,Carl Hohne,Joseph Guy Ropartz,Henri Senee,Francis Thome,Joshua Whitehouse,Gail Novak

I only bought one track off of iTunes, but I think I'm going to order the whole CD. The playing is awesome!

Re: Joshua Whitehouse

All,

I hope it wouldn't be spamming to say "Thank you, Jimi, for the nice review."

Re: Joshua Whitehouse

I have the CD, and it contains fine cornet playing indeed. The pianist plays well too.

Nice job with it, Josh!

Sotto Voce has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Re: Joshua Whitehouse

A very musical performance on every track. The album also contains a few rarely heard gems of the cornet literature that will hopefully become more popular.

It's a great resource for players and especially teachers.

Red face Re: Joshua Whitehouse

Josh's CD is great. I remember him practicing like crazy before he recorded it. It's amazing what 8 hours of online poker, 4 hours of video games and 10 beers a day can do for your trumpet playing!

In all seriousness, the CD is great. I would recomend it to all. I know he put a lot of work into it.

Athos will become famous soon enough
Re: Joshua Whitehouse

Josh is a great player... I remember him rocking the house playing lead on Shostakovich 7 as a sophomore at Eastman. Guess I'd better get this cd, eh?
