LSO St. Luke's Academy 2004: Brass

I thought I'd post this here incase any of you would be interested in it.

What is it?
The inaugural LSO St Luke's Academy*will involve*40 young orchestral brass*instrumentalists aged 14-23 from across the UK in a week of workshops and masterclasses at*LSO St Luke's. The programme will include:

Individual masterclasses

*
Chamber music workshops

*
Orchestral repertoire coaching

*
Orchestral education training

*
Lunchtime concert on Saturday 3 July, 12.30pm


Tuition will be provided by the following LSO Principals: Rod Franks (trumpet), Tim Jones (horn), Dudley Bright (trombone), Robert Hughes (bass trombone) and Patrick Harrild (tuba).

What's the repertoire?

Trumpet
Set pieces:
HUMMEL Concerto (3rd mvt played on E flat trumpet)
HINDEMITH Sonata (1st and 2nd mvts played on B flat trumpet)

Orchestral excerpts:
STRAVINSKY Petrushka
MAHLER Symphony No 5
STRAVINSKY The Firebird
R STRAUSS Don Juan
R STRAUSS Ein Heldenleben (E flat part)

When is it?
The 2004 Academy will take place 28 June to 3 July.*Auditions will take place in London, Manchester and Glasgow during the week of 12 April.



It looks great, and I would apply if I thought I could play the repetoire.
