Mahler's Third

Hello, I'm going to go listen to Mahler's Third tomorrow as played by the Toledo Symphony Orchestra and I was wondering if I could get some insight as to what I can look forward to. Thanks

Re: Mahler's Third

it's long. very long.

I've only played the last movement, which i really enjoyed playing and listening to. it's slow, but very engaging.

Re: Mahler's Third

My favorite, and maybe the most famous trumpet lick is the posthorn solo later in the work, this is a long symphony but a truly great one.
