Minneapolis Trumpet Recital!!!

So I tried putting this under events, but it wouldn't let me add a 2007 event, so I'm posting it here.

I'm doing what I think is going to be a really fun recital on January 22 at the University of Minnesota. 50 percent stuff you've probably never, 25 percent stuff I know you've never heard, and 25 percent stuff you've heard, played like you've never heard it (and hopefully in a good way). Also there will be a surprise ending. All I can tell you is that chances are I won't see the end of the recital, and I'll be wearing a lobster suit.

So here it is:

Jimi Michiel, trumpet
January 22, 2007
3:35 in the afternoon
Lloyd Ultan Recital Hall, University of Minnesota (Twin Cities)

Monophony VIII-Robert Hall Lewis
Sonata for Trumpet and Piano-Paul Hindemith
Concert in the Garden-Daniel Bassin
Iccarus Wept-James Mobberley

Please email with any questions. jmichiel@msn.com

Oh, he definitely does approve. The notes in the score say that the piece was originally envisioned with elements of full frontal nudity. While that could be interesting, I decided to err on the side of decency, so I emailed Jim to see if I could possibly incorporate "full frontal lobster nudity" instead, and of course he agreed. With any luck, this will be a fun addition to YouTube.

Just giving this one a bump... I know there are a lot of folks on here from Minnesota, so if anyone is around the U tomorrow, stop in and see some music!
