Music for Trumpet performance

Hello,

I am a new user and was wondering if there are any resources here for trumpet solo music, or trumpet/piano pieces.

I am learning trumpet and taking a class where I have to perform 3 pieces a semester. Previously I've played some of the Hindemith and Hadyn and found those about the right level of difficulty.

I am looking for interesting exciting or expressive modern-ish pieces that are more happy than sad ;) For solo or with piano or other duet.

Any suggestions?

thanks!
-steve

Do you look for a free internet based pdf scores/parts or you are willing to pay for? It is quite unlikely that you find contemporary/modern music for trumpet for free as copyright issues are involved.

Browse through Ed Carroll's forum, that should give you some ideas.

Best wishes,
Jimi

Otto Ketting Intrada. It shows off many facets of trumpet playing except for extreme range.

Re: Music for Trumpet performance

If those pieces are anything like this Getchell stuff I've been working on it sounds REAL hard.

All the above are good suggestions... Check out the Pils Sonata - its not played enough and quite a beautiful piece, IMO.
