One of my USM students playing Haydn's concerto in C :)

Not the Haydn you're thinking of... sorry for the shaky cam (I wasn't taking it).

Micah is a senior at USM (and a jazz studies major). He worked really hard on this! He studies with myself and Betty Rines at the university.

Enjoy!

Wow--bravo!!! If I had chops for the cello concerto, I'd throw away my copy of the trumpet concerto...

Re: One of my USM students playing Haydn's concerto in C :)

Micah did all the work, and I'm very proud of him. You should hear his jazz playing if you think this is good. Look out!

I've been harrassing him for some time to get some stuff up online.

Now he's gonna take all my gigs (woo-hoo!). Moments like that make me really enjoy being a teacher more than being a player. Micah did most of the work on this piece with the "classical" instructor at USM even though I think I hipped him to the Sergei recording first ;)

well, back to the shed for me!

Re: One of my USM students playing Haydn's concerto in C :)

Wow! I am totally amazed... This performance is absolutely wonderful. And this is the first time I hear a Flugelhorn used in a classical piece.

Thanks for sharing it!
