Recommend a grade 4 solo for audition?

A Friend of mine is auditioning for a position with a band and needs help picking out a piece to prepare. Honestly, I'm not sure if she can handle a piece of this level but that's what the audition requires...so, any suggestions on a grade 4 piece that isn't too technically challenging and avoids the extreme upper register?

Petite Piece Concertante by Guillame Balay. Highest note is a G above mid-C.

This piece focuses a lot on sound (its French, lol). And some valve combos in the 2nd movement that may be tricky. Awesome piece and very impressive if done correctly.

HME publications has Balay's "Petite Piece Concertante" listed as a grade 3 and Balay's "Prelude et Ballade" as a grade 4

The Prelude et Ballade was my first suggestion as well, but she freaked out when I showed it to her. I've since recommended "Girl with the Flaxen Hair" by Debussy (rated at IV-) and Anitra's Dance but those pieces are not necessarily easier than the Prelude either.

Any other ideas?

omlet, grade is how hard a piece is. 1 is easy/beginner, 6 is the highest.

Many competition pieces are "Graded" based upon their perceived level of difficulty. I believe the grades range from 1 (very easy) to 5 (advanced).

I've seen the rating go as far as 7. The Charlier I believe.

6 is Rustiques and Artunian.

.....Fantasie Brilliante from the Arban? Pretty sure thats a 4....

Goedicke "Concert Etude" is listed as a "IV" also. I'll keep looking
