Saw you, Doc (and the Orchestra) last Sat.

Hi Manny,

The duet with you and Doc was great fun to see. I loved it when all five trumpets were playing; probably MY highlight of the evening. What a great sound! Whatever horn you used, you sounded terrific. What a pleasure to see two of my favorite players in a duet again.

The only negative on the evening was Doc picked up his horn but twice. Like you said about him once before here: He brings such excitement and passion to everything he does.

I was practically sitting on top of you, so, unfortunately, my visibility of the trumpet section was difficult.

Do you ever finger the third valve only? I thought I saw you do this once, but my visibility was compromised and I'm not at all sure what I saw.

I noticed Doc had about four mutes on his stand that he never touched. Do you know if this is a habit or custom he has just to always have that equipment at hand.

I apologize for the naive questions. The entire process you go through fascinates me to no end, and thanks for giving me and this opportunity to offer these comments and questions. The entire show was a fascinating and enjoyable experience. I was impressed by all the nuance, I enjoyed the way Doc directed the orchestra (how did he know when the guest artist were finishing up their various ensemble segments and when it was time to queue the orchestra?), the showmanship and skill of the guest artists was astounding. The percussion section of the orchestra was quite visible for me and the skill of these artists was evident and impressive. It was a memorable evening for my family and me.

Regards and thanks again,
Keith H
