| New Friend | Re: Sergei Nakariakov plays Bach's "Air" sergei nakariakov is by far one of the greatest trumpet players on the planet. sometimes i find his sound thin but i guess that is what makes him an individual and his technique and musicality speak for its self. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Sergei Nakariakov plays Bach's "Air" He played at the ITG conference and hung out with people the entire week. After his performance he received the fastest standing ovation. It was immediate. No one hesitated to stand. Actually, not many talked to him but, he was out and about. He doesn't make eye contact and probably because of a language barrier. Let's call it shyness. If you speak French or Russian I would think he would be very personable. If I only knew how to say "Thank you" in Russian. What do you say to Sergei Nakariakov?

![]() ![]() | Re: Sergei Nakariakov plays Bach's "Air" June 4th 2008 at the Harvie Theater, The Banff Center. ITG 2008 with Sergei Nakariakov: Concerto in C Major with Flugelhorn Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) (originally for cello) Sergei Nakariakov, flugelhorn First violin: Brinna Brinkerhoff, Leisa Milner, Emily Westell, Lise Boutin, Laura Cheneil Second violin: Brigit Knecht, Fiona Carnie, Ella Chang, Jessica Tzou Viola: Dean O'Brien, Patricia Higgins, Lauren Nelson Cello: Nigel Boehm, Andrea Kleesattel Bass: Tyler Belluz Oboe: Ammy Goeser Kolb, Jeremy Curtis Sergei was so good I simply sat and listened. There was no amplification. He and the strings made love to our ears in natural acoustic. He had to circular breath but did it in such a way that we could not tell, only by the fluidity of the line could we know that he was performing supernaturally. No cheek puffs. We tore his heart out with applause. He knows he is welcome here. http://www.trumpetguild.org/2008conference/June4.pdf
