| Transposed orchestral parts Manny, I wonder if you have ever run into this. Last night at orchestra rehearsal, Both Tchaikovsky's 5th and the overture to The Magic Flute were transposed for a Bb trumpet. We had the "originals" in the folder, too. These were not handwritten parts and were both actually published by same publisher. Hate to admit it, but I used the Bb on both, even though the 5th lies easier on the C. Thanks, Rich Tomasek PS. Do you remember what the number on McHale's PT boat was? |

| We play editions that have the Bb transposition occasionally but never use them. They usually don't look as clear or as nice as the original. Trivia: How did the crew of PT 73 refer to Captain Binghamton? ML |
