Trpt/Baritone Duo

I am looking for a duo for trumpet and baritone horn for my son and his friend to play at contest. They are both 10th grade students and are of average to slightly above average ability level. I must admit that this is not a combination that I am real familar with, but would like to get something challenging and enjoyable for them to play. Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Cousins by H.L. Clarke. Fun as all get out, not too hard, and a great chance to learn the art of tutti phrasing.

Richard,

If I remember correctly it's Ron Baron of the BSO.

Re: Trpt/Baritone Duo

The Voxman duet books are available in treble and bass clef. The second book has some challenging stuff in it.
I used to play the Bach 2 part inventions with a baritone player - that was a gas and we didn't have very much competition!

Re: Trpt/Baritone Duo

Robert King has a French Suite for trumpet and baritone (with an option for horn) I did in when I was in HS (back in the stone age)

Re: Trpt/Baritone Duo

Side Partners by Clarke also works really well... it was originally for 2 cornets, but it works nicely for tpt/bone and im sure baritone would be just as good.

Re: Trpt/Baritone Duo

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to try the Clarke pieces, I think that they will enjoy them. I had forgotten about the Cousins piece, that one would be perfect. I have contacted our local music store and was told that Cousins is only available with band accompaniment, not piano! I then did some of searching on my own have found that Sheet Music Service in Portland has it available with piano, my order has now been placed. The Side Partners, however, is listed as permanently out of print. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a copy?
