Trumpet duets?

Hi everybody,

I remember reading a post about the importance of playing duets with other instruments. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good music or arrangments that are somewhat sight-readable. Perhaps there are some Bach transcriptions out there?

Yes, there are some of those avaiable.

The "Brass Duet Notebook" Vol. 2 contains Bach works arranged for two trumpets. Here are a few more nice duet books.

- Bartok- 44 Violin Duets arranged for trumpets (Cooper)
- Gekker- 44 Duos for Trumpet
- Williams- Artistic Duets
- Plog- Duets
- Amsden- Practice Duets (although the print is VERY small and hard to read, this is a fantastic collection)

Hope this helps!

-Neil

This book is amazing. When I was first taking trumpet lessons, my teacher would make me read one of these duets each lesson. We could only move on when I played it with little or no mistakes. He had a graph for each of his students progress.
The book helped me learn to read music, because at the time, I couldn't read music.

It helped me so much, that I have written a method book for beginner students that is totally duet based. (this was a school project, and I have yet to test it with my students)
