| TSWE Concert - (Feb. 12 - Arizona) The Tempe Symphonic Wind Ensemble (TSWE) will be giving a free concert on Monday February 12, 2007 at 7:30 PM. Joining us for this concert is guest soloist and composer Larry Lowe (horn). The concert will include: Aegean Festival Overture............Makris Sonata No. 1 for Horn.................Lowe Pedro de Vargus........................Newman/Morsch Lincolnshire Posy.......................Grainger Six Dances (with Choir)...............Copland Dirait-on...................................Lauridsen/Morsch It should be a really good performance (lots of variety on this show). If you are in the Phoenix area and can make it to the concert, please stop by and say hello. The concert is in the Boyle Auditorium on the McClintock High School campus which is in Tempe just North of Southern on McClintock. Turn right at the traffic signal on Del Rio and go about 300 yards (parking lot is to the left). Thanks, |

| Re: TSWE Concert - (Feb. 12 - Arizona) Glenn, Yeah. I was really excited to see Lincolnshire Posy on this concert. These are some of my favorite solos in the literature. I might ask our conductor for a copy of the concert on CD and see if I can post a link here of some of those solo lines (I think I have the technical savy to be able to do that now). It will be about a month before I can do it because our next rehearsal isn't for a couple of weeks and then I'm guessing it will take him at least a week or two to burn the disk for me. |
