Re: Vizzutti and Carnival of Venus

It amazes me that a folk tune hundreds of years old, adapted and variated by dozens upon dozens of players and composers, has any standing except that of being in the public domain.

Re: Vizzutti and Carnival of Venus

I don't know what I would do with the music, except frame it and hang it on the wall. I'll never have the time to work it out, even if I had the talent.

Allen is simply one of the finest players ever, but I've known that since the mid 70's.

Re: Vizzutti and Carnival of Venus

I'd love to get a copy of it as well. No chance of me being able to actually play it. But I could frame it in my practice room for some motivation.

Same here, I could never dream of playing anything as hard as this piece. It would be a great motivational item.

Re: Vizzutti and Carnival of Venus

There's a copy in the Arban's book, and if you look it up on the Library of Congress site, the original version was scanned into the site, and you can get the old version there.
Also, you can get the first page of the Clark arrangement on musicnotes.com or a similar site, which i did.

None of those are the Vizutti version, though, I think that was a custom arrangement (correct me if I'm wrong), and he may not have written it down if it was his own.

You should be corrected. He wrote it down. Read the posts.
