Well, apparently the MO isn't struggling to fill seats...

Dangit. The MO is having a Target-sponsored family-friendly concert in March for Peter and the Wolf. There was a series of six similar concerts that had already sold-out. So I couldn't get one of those.

No problem, I figured. The Target-sponsored concerts are still available since they aren't making any reservations until today. So I called a little while ago and lost the connection because the phones were too busy.

Not good.

I finally got through only to find out that ALL of those concerts are now sold out. They had two scheduled for that partucular day and both sold out in less than a day? Sheesh.

It's as bad as trying to get tickets to a rock concert.

Manny is right -- there's no reason such entities couldn't make a go of it independently. Eight concerts for the same thing all completely sold out. The kids would have loved it...sigh....

I guess one good thing about this state -- people really do seem to have a great love and appreciation for quality music (though I'm not so sure about Rochester in particular).

Just venting, folks, sorry. But hey Manny - maybe the MO could make a Rochester visit sometime, eh?

It's amazing that the Twin Cities can support two major orchestras when most metropolitan areas (outside of NYC) struggle to support one. And both of them are very good to students. Luck us.
