Wow! Moscow Symphony Orchestra!

My youth orchestra's conductor told me about a master class being given by the principal trumpetist of a symphony orchestra (he told me which, but I didn't catch it!). I went to the class, and the teacher spoke only Russian and had the orchestra's manager translating for him. I found out that this was the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, playing in Carroll County, Maryland! The tickets were $100 apiece, and the concert was sold out. I was passing people in black-tie dress (and I'm in my casual skirt and blouse).

Maybe others aren't as impressed as I was, but I was thrilled! I got a lesson from the principal trumpetist of the MSO! It's especially cool that this guy lives in a totally different world, yet he still has something, even so small, in common with me.

OK, neat experience for me. I'm done bubbling now!

It is always so wonderful to meet people from other countries, and instantly have a connection with them, because of our shared love of music and trumpet. Meeting people that way is the most rewarding part of living here in SE Asia.

Re: Wow! Moscow Symphony Orchestra!

You keep right on bubbling.... Not many people get an audience with the principal of a symphony orchestra; let alone one from another country.

You go girl!

Good for you, ABC! I agree with John...bubbling over that one is definitely acceptable. I think you learned a bit more than just trumpet lessons that day.
