writing music

For the last couple of years I have written a symphony piece for a compittion my local symphony puts on. I have one first place twice. I also write solo/ duet pieces for the trumpet.

Recently I have been wanting to get my music out to the world. Does anyone know how I do this? or any sugestions?

thank you very much!

Re: writing music

I think the best way is to get it performed and recorded. Put it on YouTube and show it to everybody. I can't count the number of times I have gone off looking to buy a piece of music because of a recording that was posted on YouTube or TrumpetMaster etc...

I know this is much more difficult in an orchestra setting, but maybe you could find a good youth/community orchestra willing to do it?

Re: writing music

You could just go down to the park and play one of your solo pieces for people.(This is my preferred method)

Or you could;

Hire a copyist to copy all the parts for the players.(you could do it yourself)

Hire an orchestra and arrange rehearsal time.

Rent a hall for rehearsal/recording.

Rehearse the the piece(or pieces) to perfection, then record your best take.

Start your own record label and try to sell the record.

Or give it away free, if all you want is to get your music out into the world!

There are a lot of other ways and if you have the desire,I hope you get the exposure you need.

We need your music!!
