| Zadok the Priest Does anyone have this an excerpts book? Its been a while since I played it. I think its scored for natural trumpet in C but I remember playing it on a D trumpet. Does anyone know if the transposed versions are widely played? Some choirs do it in different keys in arranegments apparently. |

| Re: Zadok the Priest Thanks Manny I remember it having arpeggios in it near the end. I can't remember why I played it on a D trumpet but there must have been a reason. Its from my "pre operaration" period. I had a throat operation in 1996 and they had problems getting me intubated and I was without oxygene for a while. I lost a fair bit of memory, there are about two years from 94 to 96 where I have very little fuzzy memory of what I did. Thats my excuse anyway... |

| Re: Zadok the Priest Gordon - I believe that this is in one of the volumes of the Musica Rara Complete Handel Works set, not sure which volume but I can check when I get home and let you know then if you need it. I played is several years ago with a small church orchestra and it seems to me that the part was for C trumpet and in the key of D Major. I think that I might have used a pic because of the size of the orchestra, but a D trpt would work great. Chris |

What you are saying makes sense. That might well be why I played it on D trumpet. I am essentially lazy and at the time I did have a C trumpet so if it was in C thats what I would have used (probably). | |
