NickD has a spectacular aura about
Beseme Mucho Demo 1980

OK, PLEASE do not judge this track harshly! If you read the description you'll see that this is from a seriously damaged tape. This will only be up for 1 week max!

I have had several different folks who have read my articles at the UK Brass forum to let them hear the demo that got me the gig with Maynard's band in 1980 (1981). I did a disco version of Beseme Mucho. The clean track sounds better, but I don't have the facilities to play the 24 track master. I also have no idea of what condition it is in with respect to oxide shedding. The cassette I found was in pretty bad shape, obviously.

I only post this in the spirit of reminiscence. In short, it really takes me back. Enjoy it while it’s up.

Yeah...I guess that would do in a pinch. wow, man. Just more great stuff from you. I can just picture the whole scenario of your "story". Tons I could say...but this was great to hear and a great tie in. Amazing you have all that stuff. Very cool.

An addendum to Beseme Mucho 1980

Maynard's funeral was yesterday in Ojai. I was unable to attend for a variety of reasons. I have paid my respects in many places online and my family made a donation to the MF Music Scholarship fund at UMSL. During the time since his passing I have been scrounging through my tape files and stumbled across one that REALLY took me back. I played it for my family. Most of it I can't post, though it does feature my playing with Maynard in a solo/duet out front. I did stick my intro onto the demo tape, though. I must say, I teared up when I heard this myself. I share it here for the few days I will leave this track up.

I am re-posting the original post, as all I have done is add the intro to the front of the demo.

BTW, I posted this track at my mp3unsigned.com site because I can put up a detailed description of the track that shows while playing. I am concerend that listeners might not understand what this is all about otherwise.

Peace!

That was thrilling! In particular, I liked the descending run toward the end of the intro. Thanks!
