| New Friend | Carnival Cruise Lines Dunno if this really belongs in this forum, but what the hey.... I have an audition next Friday for the aforementioned cruise company, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice/info - either for the audition itself, or indeed about the company. I've done a bit of browsing their official website etc, but I was wondering if anyone works/has worked for them, knows anything about them? All advice (good and bad) would be most appreciated. Cheers. K |

| Pianissimo User | I have worked for Carnival Cruise Lines extensively over the past couple of years. Great company to work with. If you would like to listen to what the bands sound like, in my signature box there is a link to some sound files. I am playing lead trumpet on all of them. They were recorded on a ship about a year ago. The audition process is by phone. They will e-mail you some charts and you will play them over the phone about an hour later. Much of the gig will be reading, so take it seriously as they will be taking you seriously. Chuck Farmer and John Crespo are two of the greatest guys to work for. They are very dedicated to keeping their musicians happy. Good luck and I hope to see you out there sometime. I'll be on the Inspiration from May until August. Peace |

| New Friend | Fortunately, England being comparitavely small compared to the US, I get to audition in person!!! Thankyou for your respense, by the way. It's always great to hear when someone has positive things to say. All the best. K [edit] Just listened to some of those sound files. That is some awesome playing you do there on 'Invitation'!!! And that's a brilliant arrangement of it as well! [/edit] |
