![]() | Christian Scott The newspaper I work for receives hundreds of books, CD's and DVD's for review every month. About 4x a year they hold a Book Sale to raise money for charity. Considering my musical tastes (much like those of other TM'ers), I tend to find some great gems at the sale.... most employees are looking for mainstream CD's... Jazz and Classical music is never touched. I came across a CD by trumpeter Christian Scott. Listening to it right now. Nice stuff. Is anyone familiar with his music? The CD is called "Rewind That". |

![]() ![]() | This guy is the real deal! My friend Barry Danielian turned me on to him. He sounds incredibly mature for his age. Not a rehashed beboper (no offense to bebop), but a fresh new voice. Can't wait to hear more of him. Tony |

![]() | I recommend the new CD... "Rewind That". The only comment I'll make, other than it's great music, is that the very thing that I liked about it I eventually got tired of... He uses this repetitive rhythm / catchy bass line (diff on each cut) and it just goes on and on ... every selection. I liked it at first cause it grooved well, then it was like having a never ending cup of Starbucks coffee Caramel Machiato... But like I said... good CD. |
