| Forte User | Jack Wengrosky - US Army Jazz Ambassadors John Blount - US Navy Commodores Joey Tartell - Former lead - US Army Jazz Ambassadors Tommy Williams - Formerly in the US Army Jazz Ambassadors and US Army Blues No particular order except that Tommy should probably be on the solo book. THAT would be a KILLER trumpet section.

![]() | I played with Jack Wengrosky for four years in the Elmhurst College Community Band about 18 years ago. My nephew was in that section as well and was great friends with Jack. (My nephew became split lead in the EC Jazz Band after Jack graduated). Jack was a stunning lead player back then and he could play all night and still rip off a double C with little strain. Jack was one of those lucky few who had a natural ability in the upper register. Of course he did work at it and the results were amazing. The power he had had to be heard to be believed and it is nice to hear he is doing very well. Here is a funny little story. We were doing the Caillet (sp?) version of Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral in the EC Community Band. Jack was on first cornet and I was on the first trumpet part. There is a powerful high C at the climax in the first cornet part. Jack played a strong double C and we could hear it on top-and in perfect balance- of the 70+ piece band which was playing at maximum volume. After the end of the piece I looked at Jack and he just grinned. Great lead player. |

![]() | If we're going to have a section of Brits we might as well have a section of Torontonians. Lead: Arnie Chycoski(I think he's in Vancouver now but he used to be in Toronto) 2nd: Chase Sanborn 3rd: Brian O'Kane 4th: John MacLeod

![]() | I think the kind of style you would want makes a big difference in who you would pick. Only one person has selected Doc. What about Maynard? Do you want a perfect tight section, or one that can play thirds in the stratosphere? Depends on the sound I guess. How about (in no particular order): Doc Maynard Noel Langley Alan Wise Nick Drozdoff Hard to leave anyone off ... like Byron and Wayne Not sure they could play together (well, three of them have) but it would be fun. ![]() | Arnie's currently on the roster (listed as semi-retired) here: http://members.shaw.ca/fbouchard/Arr...age,%20aws.htm Any section I would propose would have to include Leroy Jones in the jazz chair. So how about... Wayne Bergeron or Roger Ingram, I can't decide Gary Grant Leroy Jones Rick Baptist Guido Basso
