Ellington Orchestra with Barrie Lee Hall

Hello all,

For the in the NYC area, the Duke Ellington Orchestra featuring Barrie Lee Hall will be appearing August 2, 3 and 4 at the Blue Note. Barrie Lee Hall is a true original. Hired by Duke himself, he has fused the concepts of Cootie Williams and Freddie Hubbard into a voice uniquely his own. The orchestra will be performing not only the standard Ellington chestnuts, but also selections from "Such Sweet Thunder," Ellington's Shakepearean suite. The trumpet section will be comprised of James Zollar, Chris Albert, Ravi Best and Kevin Bryan (that's me). Hope to see some of you out there.

-Kevin
