well, I haven't listened to any of his performances, but I have the Tom Harrell Jamey Abersold and I love Train Shuffle. It has a fun solo section too

Tom Harrell is an absolute joy to listen to. The tune "Tran Shuffle", by the way, is on his recording called "Time's Mirror". It features Tom in larger ensemble settings. Not a big band recording exactly, but additional wind instrumentation. Excellent.

How about the recording of Joy Spring he did on the Tribute to Clifford album a couple years ago.... he's playing by himself, pretty much soloing as he lays down the chord structure well enough for anyone to tell the tune. Pretty amazing...
Bobby Shew once said in a clinic I attended that Tom Harrell was the kind of cat that , if you dropped a tissue he'd say "That was a nice D."
