Help With Dizzy Tune Can anyone point me in the direction of a lead sheet for Dizzy Gillespie's "Tin Tin Deo"? I have the Gil Fuller big-band arrangement, but it seems to be lacking a Solo Trumpet part and hence the melody. Also, can anyone identify a big-band recording for the Gil Fuller arrangement (Dizzy or otherwise)?

Re: Help With Dizzy Tune Well, thanks for the United Nations Orchestra link. I enjoyed that rendition, but it wasn't of much value in ascertaining the melody. After Diz had performed that piece a thousand times, I suppose he could be granted license to mess with the melody instead of playing it. What's the basic melody? That's the question. I'd also be grateful for any information about a Diz's recording of the Gil Fuller arrangement. That certainly wasn't it.

Re: Help With Dizzy Tune I guess I'm not making myself clear. I've spent hours and hours with Google and All Music Guide looking for a recording of the Gil Fuller arrangement. I've heard several of Dizzy's renditions of the tune, but I have failed to find the recording of him playing that particular arrangement. There's no sense in my investing in a recording of "Tin Tin Deo" if it's not the Gil Fuller arrangement. I could probably construct a lead sheet by patching together several of the audio samples I've heard, but if anyone can lead me to an already constructed lead sheet, I'd be very grateful. Even with a lead sheet of the melody, I won't have a complete Solo Trumpet part because there's undoubtedly more to the Gill Fuller arrangement than the melody. Without a complete recording of the GF arrangement, I won't be able to reconstruct the missing Solo Trumpet ensemble parts.

Re: Help With Dizzy Tune Thanks, all, for your continued effort to help out. GETTIN' DIZZY: wrong arrangement. Most of the Diz recordings, dozens of them, are this session. It's probably my best source if I need to transcribe the melody, however. Score: What I have is an old, old unpublished manuscript. There's no score. Had there been, this would have been an easy fix. I'd really love to get ahold of the Latin Realbook transcription. (Else print the page and rescan it?)
