Help from a Jazzer... please I have a solo in a jazz chart we are playing in Brass Band... and only changes are provided... Old Benny Goodman recording of "Stealin' Apples" by Fletcher Henderson. Can anyone help me find a written solo I can adapt to this arrangement... I don't improvise worth beans... they may still give the solo to someone else... but it would be nice to present something at next rehearsal... Anyone? Thanks, Rogerio

It would probably be easier to write a solo for yourself than to go looking for one that's already written. There's nothing wrong with working something out beforehand if you don't have much experience improvising.

Thanks Brad... you are absolutely correct. It's a straight fwd little tune that can easily be embelished to make it sound like a improv. The biggest problem for me is time. I work a FT job and most of my evenings are either dedicated to my spouse or just keeping the chops up. It's a quick turn-around to next Thursday... a quick fix. But I do appreciate you posting your suggestion.
