Horn Tabs

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to play with horn tabs?
I want to get started on learning on how to play ska and whatnot, but my ears are not good enough to just be able to play them right off the cds without at least some help
THANKS!

Re: Horn Tabs

To do well with horn tabs, the only thing you can do is listen to the song you wanna learn over and over again until you can sing the trumpet part.

Check out the thread http://www.trumpetmaster.com/vb/f131...1-a-33155.html (Music Theory 101)

"Tabs" here (I think) refers to a standard notation of chords, not unique to ska, and any jazz theory book should be able to help you out. Have fun!
