Ingid Jenson

Hey all

Just wanted to let everyone know that Ingrid Jenson just played at my school and also gave a worklshop the day before. Also, after the show tonight she ended up in our bar of choice. What a great girl, so sociable and nice. Her music is awesome as well. What does everyone think of her style?

Eric

Ingrid

(giggle, giggle.....sorry, couldn't resist Eric)

Yeah, she's a cool jazz cat who marches to her own drum. I like that.

I’d say that you are very fortunate to have had that workshop with her. I also agree with you in that she is friendly. Ingrid will take time out to talk with you.

Ingrid Jensen is one of my current favorite trumpet and flugelhorn players. I’ve seen her live once in New York City at the Kitano Jazz Club and will see and hear her again at the Kitano in several weeks. I’ve purchased her most recent recording, “At Sea.” Wow! She is a truly amazing player with chops. She had studied with Art Farmer and Laurie Frink. I can hear some influence from Art in her playing, with her warm lyricism. She plays from the heart, just like Art. She will be playing fast lines, technically demanding, and it still sounds lyrical to me. She makes it look so easy. What a great sound concept, too!

I highly recommend her to all trumpet players. You can learn more about her and purchase her recordings from her website: http://www.ingridjensen.com/
