  | Jam session I was at a jam session last night just outside of the Boston area and I saw a 6 year old improvise over a blues! This kid had only been playing for 2 months and he could play 1 2 3 5 on each chord of the blues by memory. Its things like this that really motivate me to want to continue teaching and playing. This just goes to show that a few months of practice playing the right things can and will take you far. I can't tell you how many times I've heard a trumpet player improvising over the blues and totally forget that bar 8 is the 6 chord, and this 6 year old nailed it. Incredible!
